Safety

M A Utilities (MAU) puts the safety of its operatives, its sites and the general public at the forefront of everything it does. The work carried out by MAU is fraught with risk and danger. Great care must be taken to avoid striking electricity, water and other utility cables on any excavation works. Gas is highly volatile. One mistake could lead to an explosion, resulting in damage to property, serious injury or, in the worst case scenario, death.

Thorough risk assessments are carried out and recorded for all tasks. All near misses are recorded and reported. Operatives and teams are encouraged to regularly take safety moments, where they step back and look for potential issues.

MAU is relentless in its approach to safety procedures, so that every MAU operative comes home from work each day safe and healthy. At all levels of the company, a personal commitment to safety is required. This is demonstrated in MAU’s exceptional safety record.
